Flau’jae Johnson and Travis Hunter both have been on fire this season. While Johnson continues to light up the basketball court, she continues to root for Hunter and Colorado, too. But it looks like the football star’s Heisman-worthy performance almost got overshadowed by a controversial moment. But what happened exactly?

So, Colorado cruised to a 49-24 victory over Utah, but it wasn’t just the win that had people talking. Hunter was hit with an unsportsmanlike penalty after striking a Heisman pose following a stunning interception.

During the match, he played both sides of the ball and was everywhere on the field. He rushed for a touchdown, caught five passes for 55 yards, and even pulled off an interception. And to top it all off, he added three tackles and a pass breakup. And we can’t deny that he is the reason behind his team’s such a great start this season.

Hence, it hasn’t diminished Hunter’s standout performance, and the Lady Tigers star and fans continue to root for his rise to the top. Johnson even took to Twitter, saying, “Bruh just give Travis the trophy,” showing her full support.

Well, he did have one of the best games of his career. And who would know better than an athlete herself? The LSU Tigers guard has been backing Hunter ever since the start of the season. On her podcast Best of Both Worlds in October, she described Hunter as “a generational talent.”

“He’s playing offense, he’s playing defense, and he’s getting interceptions and TDs. You don’t pass to his side,” she said. She even hoped to collaborate with him on her podcast. Although the two stars play different sports, there’s one thing that’s common in both.

They have been at the forefront of their respective teams this season. While Travis has been a force for Colorado, Flau’jae has stepped up in a major way for LSU. With Angel Reese moving on to the pro, the 21-year-old has been carrying the torch, leading them to an undefeated 3-on-3 season. In fact, she recently hit 1,000 career points.

Hitting 1,000 career points is a major milestone for any player, and Flau’jae has done it. In LSU’s blowout win against Charleston Southern, the junior added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists, helping her team win 117-44.

That jumper that pushed her over the 1,000-point mark was a memorable one. She is now the 37th player in LSU’s storied history to reach that milestone, which is no small feat, especially in a program that’s produced legendary players. However, this isn’t a surprise, as she has been on an upward trajectory since the very beginning.

In her first season, she scored 396 points, averaging 11.0 points per game. Last season, she upped that to 537 points, with a solid 14.9 points per game. This season, she’s averaging 22.33 points per game and already has 67 points. At this pace, she could easily move up the ranks in LSU history.

Through it all, her mom, Kia Brookes, has been her biggest cheerleader. After the hooper hit the milestone, Kia shared a video on Instagram, writing, “Proud mom.” Now, as LSU continues its dominant run, let’s see what she brings to the court.
