Flau'jae Johnson's ESPY honor—Is she the next big thing in college basketball?

Louisiana State University has indeed had a handful of golden years. The WBB division under Kim Mulkey’s tutelage brought in the program’s first-ever National Championship, which starred stars like Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson. Gymnastics star Olivia Dunne also brought home a gold this past season. Not to mention, the 21-year-old artistic gymnast has been killing it in the NIL department as well. As a group, the Tigers prove that they are skillful at the sport they practice and multi-talented off their respective courts. Hence, when a stage like ESPYS gave them a platform, Johnson and Livvy could not help but show their gratitude.

When talking on the red carpet of the ESPYS where the two young ladies completely ate, the hooper and the gymnast showed their pride in calling themselves Lady Tigers. Flau’jae Johnson, who performed at last night’s affair in LA, talked about her stint.

“It’s going to be legendary; I could tell you that. I just want to thank the ESPYS and everybody just giving me this opportunity as a artist that’s been working as a basketball player. This, the ESPYS, is like the perfect platform for me to do this. So, I’m just thankful,” Johnson told the hosts Christine Williamson and Harry Lyles Jr.

At the same time, Livvy Dunne was also flaunting her experience as a Lady Tiger. She said, “I am a completely different person than when I first started this journey, especially at LSU. I feel like LSU and the culture in Louisiana has molded me into the person I am today. And LSU just produces amazing athletes and National Championships. I’m just so grateful.”

While the red-carpet conversations were quite enticing with these young talents, the achievements that ESPN honored were also exemplary.

The ESPYS ride for the double threat hooper Flau’jae Johnson

LSU made quite a noise on the West Coast last night. By this, we mean that the Lady Tiger, Flau’jae Johnson, entranced everyone present with her performance. She set the stage on fire by singing “Came out a beast” from her recently launched album. The song originally features Lil Wayne, who was in the audience in the BOBW album as the superstar hooper sang her story through music.
