The LSU Tigers were underway to start their Cayman Islands Classic campaign on Friday. After five back-to-back wins, the reigning national champions were clear favorites of the contest. Unfortunately, just as both the teams were looking to take the court, a false fire alarm spoilt the fun for everyone present. Both the teams and the crowd were asked to clear the John Gray Gymnasium right away. Moreover, fire service was also called as a precautionary measure. Despite all the theatrics, LSU was seen having a nice time with their fans. The No.4 Flau’jae Johnson along with the point guard were seen rapping and making a music video.

However, the drama didn’t last for long as the official business was underway soon after. After a while, both the teams were back on to the court as the game received the green signal. Fans were relieved to see both the teams in action and were looking for a mouth-watering clash. Placed at the 7th spot currently, the Lady Tigers had all the momentum with them as the crowd witnessed them singing “the girl on Fire”. However, the Purple Eagles were looking to hand the NCAA champions their second loss.

Angel Reese misses out yet again
LSU’s most popular and the most successful player of their championship run–Angel Reese did not accompany her team to the Cayman Islands. The All-American forward has been ruled out of Kim Mulkey’s squad now for the third game in a row. Following this, LSU’s spokesman Grant Kauvar was unable to provide a reasonable explanation about the Bayou Barbie’s absence. Further, it seems like whenever someone inquires about her absence, the university deviates it towards Mulkey. Angel Reese has been out of action after Mulkey benched her in the second half of LSU’s win over Kent State. Moreover, the defending champions won both the games convincingly without Reese.
