The No. 1 LSU women’s basketball team suffered a season-opening loss against Colorado, but they rebounded successfully. The Lady Tigers beat Queens 112-55 on an unforgettable night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The LSU’s 112 points ranked third all-time in school history. Before the game, they received their 2023 National Championship rings. A key recruit was present as the LSU women’s basketball team lifted their national championship banner on Thursday night.

With potential transfer prospects such as Aneesah Morrow and Hailey Van Loth already on the roster, the hunt for new talents at LSU is never quenched. The third-ranked prospect in the Class of 2024, according to ESPN, appeared in the program’s home opener against Queens University of Charlotte.

Five-star guard Jaloni Cambridge is being hosted by Kim Mulkey and the defending National Champion LSU Tigers for a multi-day stay in Baton Rouge, as the No. 3 player in the country is finalizing her choice. The defending National Champions have pulled in five-star talent for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes.

The Tigers have Jaloni Cambridge, Joyce Edwards, and Sarah Strong on their recruiting paths. A 6-foot-2 forward from North Carolina, Sarah Strong, visited LSU on September 8th, during the Tigers’ football game against Grambling. Additionally, Jaloni Cambridge, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Florida, attended the Tigers’ pregame ring ceremony and banner unveiling, while Edwards, a 6-foot-2 from South Carolina, was in town for the football game versus Arkansas on September 22.

The fifth-ranked senior in the country, Kate Kovall, committed to Notre Dame early in October, and LSU has missed out on her. The lone athlete from the Class of 2024 that it has signed so far is Jada Richard, a four-star point guard from Lafayette Christian Academy.

Cambridge’s chances of making Angel Reese’s roster

According to sources who spoke with LSU Country, Jaloni Cambridge, the star guard for the 2024 class, arrived on campus on Wednesday night and plans to remain until Saturday afternoon. It provides the Tigers coaching staff with a chance to spread the red carpet for this program.

Mulkey has spearheaded Cambridge’s recruitment efforts alongside assistant coaches Gary Redus and Bob Starkey. This autumn, the three coaches have visited the five-star recruit’s house for in-home visits and even stopped by her volleyball matches.
