With her razzle-dazzle skills, the freshman guard has led her team to win their most recent game against the Western Michigan Broncos. The dazzling display of skill that caught everyone’s attention was her jaw-dropping triple-double against Western Michigan, leaving several fans wondering about this freshman keeping the spectators on their toes. 

Amidst the rising players, Hidalgo has become the focal point of gossip because of her strategic prowess and unmatched court vision. Her 26 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals performance has just solidified her status as one of the best freshmen ever in the history of the NCAA. 

The freshman sensation

Born in 2005, Hannah Hidalgo was raised in Merchantville, where she started her journey to become a basketball sensation at Paul VI High School. During her high school days, she trained under her father, who helped her build her fundamentals. In her high school days, as a senior, she averaged 28.8 points, 7.3 steals, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, helping her team to the South Jersey Non-Public A finals. 

She ended her high school career as an all-time leading scorer with 2,135 points, which helped her earn the title Player of the Year by Courier-Post and Gatorade. Her exceptional skills and talents earned her the rating as a five-star recruit.

She received scholarship offers from several programs like Michigan, Stanford, Duke, Ohio State, and UCF. However, she chose Notre Dame and she is having a spectacular season there in the 2023-24 NCAA season. 

How has she performed so far?

In her college career debut game against South Carolina, Hannah Hidalgo dropped 31 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, setting the stage for what can be expected from her in the upcoming games. She is currently averaging 23.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, leading her team to win nine out of the ten games they have played so far.

Her impressive skills also led many fans to draw a parallel between her and basketball sensation Caitlin Clark as she became the fourth Division-1 player to ever average 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, in the first 10 games of their college career.
