The Ohio State Buckeyes comprehensively beat the Belmont Bruins in the marquee clash hosted at the Value City Arena. The game was played on Friday and helped the Ohio State to notch up their lead to a 10-2 tally in the Big Ten.
The Ohio were particularly effective against the Belmont since their guard Jacy Sheldon smoked a game-high of 31 points. This standalone performance provided the impetus to the Ohio State to give unassailable leads in all the quarters. The adage “Leadership is an action not position,” completely feels true for Sheldon.

For Sheldon, this was her third 30-point spree this NCAA season, and she might be the most hidden player for now. Her 31-points included 2 rebounds and 3 assists that got her team raking up points against the opponents. She shot an astounding 12-18 field goals along with 55.6% three-pointers.
Her dominant alpha skills can be gauged from the fact that the next best points from her team were that of their guard Celeste Taylor who slammed 15 points. Thus Sheldon’s performance knocked on the doors of many fans who had missed her brilliance before.
The Ohio-born had proved her mettle even when her team had been defeated against the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins. Though, Sheldon had slammed 28 and 30 points in the process the Buckeyes lost the game by margins of 83-74 and 77-71 against the Trojans and the Bruins respectively. She was the only saving grace for her team.

Another noteworthy stat is that she shot cent percent free throws in both outings. Hence, she pushed her best to propel her team in overcoming the opponents which unfortunately they couldn’t and fell short.
Sensational Sheldon’s staggering stats
Sheldon’s other astounding performance came against the Penn State Lady Lions when she slammed 31 points with a 13-for-14 free throw stat. And it’s not only in offense but even in her defense she has been contributing her part just like she did in that game, grabbing 5 rebounds in the process.

Sheldon leads the team stat in two departments of points and steals average. She has besotted 19.1 points per game in the 12 games she has played and the Buckeyes have relied on her whenever things have not gone well for them.
Additionally, she has basketed 43.4% three-pointers which is a really good number considering she is the central scorer for her team and is always under pressure to thrust her team forward.
