The No. 4 positioned North Mecklenburg locked horns with the Mallard Creek on Friday and upended them by a blowout margin of 87-44. While the Mallard tried to stop the Mecklenburg in their tracks they couldn’t since the Meck’s small forward Isaiah Evans wrecked havoc. The Cooper Flagg contemporary stunned all basketball fans by smashing a spectacular 35 points and dropped 5 three-pointers in the process.

The night was special since the fans saw an out-an-out rampage by the Meck. The 6-feet-6-inch baller made full use of his tall stature and went onto basketball clean pots. He was the center of all the Meck’s basketball layups. 

Effervescent Evans goes beyond Cooper Flagg comparison

Evans is currently ranked at the third spot among the small forwards across the nation as per 247Sports.com, and has once again shown his caliber with this game. He hit the game’s highest points and was well supported by two other members of his team – guards Chadlyn Traylor and Carson Evans. The two dished out 19 and 13 points respectively. 

Isaiah is a Duke commit and has often been compared to his peer Cooper Flagg for his playing style. He almost looked unstoppable in the game and the confidence he displayed showed sparks of an extraordinary player in the making. The Huntersville born showed his proficiency in looking for open spaces and smashing the hoop with his smooth moves against his rivals’ defenders.

The victory was however supported by Traylor and Carson who were very crafty with their abilities. They made some superb assists and enamored all with their tactics. They easily became connectors in layups and looked for open spaces.

The 5-Star performance that routed resilient rivals

For the Mallard Creek, senior baller Gary Davis put on a resilient show and fought until the last minute of the match, trying to make the road game a little bumpy for his opponents. But the Meck’s five-star recruit that stole most of the show especially with his swoon-worthy dunking abilities.

Despite the Mallard Creek’s humiliating loss, Davis was a saving grace in their contest. He did create a few scoring opportunities and also showed his swiftness in getting from coast to coast.

While the Mecklenburg will square off against the Link Academy on Monday, the Mallard will fight it out against the Gaston Christian School. This match was not only special for being Isaiah’s one of the best games this season but also was a clear indication of what the Meck could do and how they are chief contenders for the championship.
