Sports analyst John Fanta opened up on Bronny James’ future on the DTF Podcast on Saturday. Fanta candidly spoke at length about the devastating incident and how he thinks Bronny will perform during the upcoming season.
“Bronny James, I’m not going to set an expectation or bar. It’s unfair to do that off of a cardiac incident. I’m just glad that the kid is okay. I’ll be honest with you, I’ll be surprised if Bronny is playing a significant role on this team with everything he’s been through.”
Bronny James is the eldest son of the NBA legend LeBron James. The 19-year-old plies his trade as a point guard for the University of Southern California Trojans in the NCAA. However, to everyone’s shock, Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest in July during a basketball workout. Doctors diagnosed the Ohio-born with a congenital heart defect and he had to miss his favorite sport for quite some time.
The James family then issued a statement through their spokesman assuring fans that Bronny would “return to basketball in the very near future.” As per Fox Sports, the four-star recruit had arrived fully conscious at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
