To add to the excitement, the HC’s fashion statement and unwavering Philly pride have perfectly aligned.

The Philadelphia Eagles made a bold statement, cruising to a dominant 22-10 win over Greenbay to kick off the postseason. And speaking of statements, South Carolina coach Dawn Staley made one with her outfit, too. After two years, she revived her legendary NFL look, and ESPNW took note, highlighting the iconic moment on their Instagram.

Just in time for her team’s major victory and the Philadelphia Eagles’ triumph, Staley’s iconic style was as on point as the wins she was celebrating. Staley rocked a Randall Cunningham Eagles jersey during the showdown of Carolina vs Texas, which eventually turned out to be their win game.

The Philadelphia Eagles made sure the Green Bay Packers wouldn’t pull off a playoff upset, securing their place to host the winner of Monday night’s Wild Card Round finale. This win was especially significant for Philadelphia fans, including South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley, who has long been celebrated for her deep-rooted connection to the city’s sports culture.

She has made her support clear through the season, cheering on social media at every opportunity. Back during Halloween, Staley hilariously shared a picture of two skeleton decorations for the occasions and used the opportunity to pen, “my Eagles did a whole lot of that today.” Before that, during a South Carolina Gamecocks win over Kentucky in January 2024, she wore a Michael Vick throwback jersey, showing off her strong ties.

But if we were to really look at the origins, as the Eagles took on the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl clash, the Gamecocks HC had showed up in the same Cunningham jersey. Adding to the interest, she had worn the Eagles’ jersey for every playoff game of theirs that season.

Whether in the stands or through her signature outfits, Staley’s support for the team is always visible and it hasn’t been one-sided.

“I’m honored to be here today to support a great friend and even better coach — maybe the best coach in America — I wanna say thank you for all you do for the state of South Carolina,” Ashlon Jeffery had said as he went on to present his no.17 jersey. “We finally getting the recognition we deserve. And on behalf of myself and Philadelphia Eagles, we wanna give you a small token.”

The Gamecock has also reportedly been consulted by Nick Sirianni when he was taking on a new role. She had met with the team’s leadership council including Jalen Hurts and discussed ways of winning as per The Athletic. What seemingly kept them connected was the understanding that “success is relatable.” Staley’s instances of show of support have been endless. But it’s good to know it has been reciprocated.
