This year’s NCAA season is about to reach its first half and the tension between the players can be seen on the court. Notably, certain historical rivalries have been developing all these years, and with the changing times, players are stepping out and challenging other players. Now, Clemson’s PJ Hall has also made a rather edgy comment on Purdue’s Zach Edey who is presently leading the top 100 players of 2023-24.

PJ Hall calling out Zach Edey

In a recent episode of Field of 68, Clemson’s forward PJ Hall joined the conversation with sports analyst Jeff Goodman. Interestingly, when Goodman mentioned Edey in the introduction, PJ Hall didn’t shy away from calling out Zach Edey, saying, “I don’t see 9-0 by his name though.”

Last season, he became a third-team All-ACC recipient, who averaged 15.3 points, and 5.7 rebounds per game. Moreover, he hooped with a shooting percentage of 53.5 from the field and 39.8 for the 3-point range. Also, he was named to the John R. Wooden Preseason Top 50 Watch list. In addition to that, he led the Tigers to 2 victories and a championship title at the 2023 Asheville Championship Tournament, earning himself the MVP honors.

However, this season, he has averaged 21.3 points, 7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

On the other hand, Zach Edey has been dominant in his performance. Per game, he has been averaging 23.7 points (ranks 3rd across the nation), and 11.2 rebounds (ranks 6th across the nation). Moreover, he has been shooting with a field goal percentage of 63.6 (ranks 30th across the nation).

Also, Edey made some impressive scores while entering this season. He scored a career-high 1533 points, 847 rebounds, and 148 blocks, which has helped him earn the ranks 23rd, 9th, and 8th respectively.

Clemson or Purdue, which is better?

This season, the Tigers took off with a strong start. They made an overall record of 23-11, including a home record of 15-2, and an away record of 5-6. Also, they have a neutral site record of 3-3. On the other hand, Purdue holds an overall record of 9-1.

When it comes to conference play, the Tigers made a 14-6 record, including a strong 9-1 home record. However, in non-conference games, they hold a 9-5 record, ranking 1st in the ACC.

Meanwhile, Purdue is currently ranked at #4 in the December AP Poll. Moreover, they rank #11 in the Big Ten Conference.
