The LSU Tigers had to face a lot of heat after their humiliating defeat in their season opener. Their credibility as a champion was questioned soon after that. However, Angel Reese and Co. have put to rest all these speculations with a resounding win at home. In a dominant display, the Lady Tigers bulldozed over Queens University at a sold-out Pete Maravich Assembly Center. With a thumping 112-55 win, the defending champions have announced their comeback.
The Lady Tigers came out hard with an aggressive mindset on Thursday night. With a lot to prove to everyone they stepped up and ruled the court.

The defending champions didn’t take much time to make their intentions clear. The 2023 Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, Angel Reese set the tone of the game along with Sa’Myah Smith. Both of them have a combined score of 49 out of LSU’s 112 points. The Bayou Barbie finished the night with yet another double-double scoring 28 points to go with her 14 rebounds. Catching up to her was the talented sophomore forward Sa’Myah Smith. She contributed with her 21 points and 8 rebounds. Moreover, she took her game to the next level in the second half scoring 10 points.
The Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey made significant adjustments in this game. Following the defeat to Colorado, she made some changes to the starting line-up. Mulkey benched Aneesah Morrow to give Smith a chance. Nonetheless, Morrow ended her outing on 16 points. In addition to this, freshman Mikaylah Williams was also among the top performers with 17 point to her name. In addition to this, Janae Kent also joined the party adding 7 points to the scoreboard.
LSU is back on track to keep its crown. Also, they now have a better clarity on what they should expect from this season.

Defiance of Lady Tigers
LSU lost its season opener against Colorado in an extremely disappointing manner. However, this may have given the team a reality check that even though they are the previous NCAA champions, they are still defending the title. It was quite apparent in their defiant game against Queens University of Charlotte.
Angel Reese and Co gave a clear message that the Lady Tigers will not take anything lightly now. Reese especially gave her opponents a hard time by scoring yet another double-double of the season.
