The LSU women’s basketball team is currently facing a significant controversy due to the absence of standout player Angel Reese. Her grades are believed to be the cause of her absence, although she has strongly denied these allegations. Reese did not play in the Cayman Islands Classic basketball tournament game against Niagara on Friday. This marks her third absence from the Lady Tigers basketball team this season due to the hype surrounding her case.

According to the latest information, she did not travel with the team for LSU’s Saturday game versus Virginia, which would mark her fourth game absence in a row. And her recent social media post after LSU’s victory reflects her state of mind.

Ever since reports surfaced that she was having academic difficulties, Reese has been defensive and combative with anyone who challenged her. She even shared a video with the well-known line, “What about me would make you think that I care about your opinion of me?” narrated by Deion Sanders.

After that, she has been active on Thanksgiving Day on her social media. Though her participation in Cayman Classics is ruled out, Angel Reese is happy for her team, as she shared an image of them in her Instagram stories post their victory. The image was shared on LSU’s official Instagram handle, captioned “Island Victory.”

The problem is being made worse by excluding Reese from Saturday’s game, and no one is responding to questions from the media. Coach Kim Mulkey declined to respond to inquiries on Reese. Not even if Reese will return to hanging out with her teammates in the Caymans was confirmed by her.
