The LSU Tigers carved their path to glory last season with its exceptional bunch of players. Angel Reese and the rest of the lady Tigers will try to repeat their heroics in NCAA once again. Their head coach Kim Mulkey has been busy scouting for new recruits this season. One of the transfers catching everyone’s attention is the talented point guard Hailey Van Lith.

The 2020 Washington Ms. Basketball is an explosive inclusion to the current national champions squad. However, it will be interesting to see how Kim Mulkey utilizes her skills in the upcoming season.

LSU Tigers boss Kim Mulkey was recently having a virtual interview on SportsCenter. Following this, she talked about how she is approaching the upcoming season with the Lady Tigers. The ESPN anchor Stan Verrett asked her to open up about Hailey Van Lith’s role in the team. Replying to Stan, Kim said, “We’re gonna play Haley at point guard. She has really grabbed a hold at the point guard position and just gotten so much better at learning things she needs to learn to play for us effectively.”

The No.11 of the LSU Tigers has made a name for herself before making her move here. She is known for her efficiency in shooting. Further, she also has brisk movement while dribbling across the court. Mulkey further added, “We don’t wanna take away her scoring. She can flat-out score the basketball. She is a natural-born leader, has no problem opening her mouth and getting her teammates involved and engaged and gets them all pumped up. I recruited Haley when I was at Baylor and I told her you’re ending your college career at LSU. No one outworks Haley Van Lith.”

Haley Van Lith had won many accolades and accomplishments before Mulkey spotted her and brought her to LSU.

The immaculate Haley Van Lith

She has made it to the First-team All-ACC twice in 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, Haley was also a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team of 2021.  Moreover, she gave a stellar performance in the FIBA Under-18 World Cup. As a result, she was the FIBA 3×3 Under-18 World Cup MVP in 2019.

The 2020 McDonald’s All-American was named in the first-team All-ACC for two consecutive seasons. In addition to this, the Associated Press, the United States Basketball Writers Association and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association have made honorable mentions in the All-American.
