However, one game in which they displayed optimum talent was against the Little Rock Trojans. In the game on Thursday night, the Eagles who were trailing the Trojans by 17 points till the end, turned the tides completely by taking over the dominance and winning with 50-47. While the crowd at Jack Stephens Center surely had an enticing match in their cards, the Eagles coach took the spotlight.

Cayla Petree loses her cool with a technical foul

Recently in a match against the Little Rock Trojans, Morehead State Eagles coach headlined for flaring up at a technical foul. According to a video uploaded by the official YouTube account of Women Hooping, the play was stopped with 9:30 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Apparently, Jayla Brooks of the Trojans took an ankle to her throat by Melissa Secchiaroli of the Eagles. Before the referee could call the foul, Morehead State continued playing with an offensive advantage in their hands.
However, the pause ended that play which prodded Cayla Petree to react rashly. Evidently, she threw her towel into the court and went on to discuss the matter with the referee. As a result, she also welcomed a technical foul to the team’s name. The outburst may be caused by the scoreboard reading 13-27 with Morehead State lagging behind the Trojans.

This campaign of the NCAA has been quite exhausting for the Eagles. Currently, their record reads 13 wins in a total of 26 matches. However, some players on the Morehead roster are surely outperforming their skills. The freshman guard on the Eagles roaster– Katie Novik — bagged 13 points for the team. There were also two double-double scorers against the Trojans. Veronica Charles grabbed 13 points and 5 steals. At the same time, Blessing King contributed 6 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks to the team total.
At the end of the day, the Eagles did win and Petree’s coaching did work. However, such a display of emotions can definitely hamper the atmosphere for the players as well as the viewers.
