The LSU Tigers had a dream run in the 2023 season. With superstars like Angel Reese, Hailey Van Lith and Flau’jae Johnson they defeated Iowa to win the the NCAA championships. A whole lot of credit should be given to their Hall of Famer coach Kim Mulkey. She has been the source of inspiration behind LSU lifting their maiden NCAA title. However, this time around, she’s influencing the men’s basketball team.

Kim Mulkey encourages the men’s division of the LSU Tigers
The LSU Women’s Basketball recently shared a post on their Twitter account. In the video, Tigers’ head coach is seen motivating the men’s division of the franchise. She says,” We don’t build this program that quickly without great players first, without good coaches, and without you dream teamers.” Despite an impressive 12-1 start to the season, the Tigers finished with 13–18, 2–16 in SEC play. As a result, they found themselves at the bottom.

The men’s team desperately needs a push to start their 2023-24 campaign. And who better than Kim Mulkey to bring them back to their best? Mulkey further added,” Well, you have to change your mindset. I’ve been fighting for y’all to get national. These things, show them Angel, championship rings.” She pointed towards the championship ring on her finger. Pointing towards the team she said, “And you’re gonna get them.” Her powerful words were greeted with a huge cheer from the players present from both divisions. The LSU Tigers will kick-start their season against the MS Valley on Nov 7.

The legendary coach Kim Mulkey
Kim Mulkey entered the world of college basketball in the year 2000. In her first season with the Baylor Bears, she guided them to their first-ever NCAA tournament. The Lady Bears, who finished last in the points table in the Big 12 Conference, went on to lift the 2005 NCAA title. They beat the Michigan State in the finals. As a result, this win made Kim Mulkey the first woman to win the NCAA Division I title both as a player and a coach. In addition to this, Mulkey entered the history books in 2012. The Lady Bears had the most wins with a record 40-0 season. Furthermore, she became the third coach after Connecticut’s Geno Auriemma and Tennessee’s Pat Summitt to win three or more National championships. After 21 seasons at Baylor, Kim Mulkey became the head coach of LSU Tigers in 2021
