The Hall Of Fame Series in Las Vegas gave the basketball fans a reason to smile as it kick-starts the new NCAA season. Everyone was excited to see Angel Reese get back in action. However, the Bayou Barbie failed to inspire the LSU Tigers to a win in their season opener. The NCAA champions didn’t start their title defense as they would have liked.
The spirited Lady Buffs lay waste to the Tiger’s plans by securing a 92-78 victory over them. The result shocked many while some seemed to enjoy the outcome. Amidst the happy faces was the seven-time WNBA All-Star Candace Parker.

The sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Vegas played host to the opening game of the Lady Tigers against Colorado. A lot of popular faces were in attendance to witness this encounter. Assisting the commentary team was the three-time WNBA champion–Candace Parker. The Ace was seen having a nice time while sharing her valuable input about the game. After the match, the Colorado Buffaloes powerful guard Jaylyn Sherrod went towards Parker to shake hands. Candace along with the rest of her commentary team didn’t waste time in congratulating her for causing a monumental upset. Following this, she told the No. 00 of the Lady Buffs to smile a little. She further advised her to enjoy the spoils of her famous victory over the defending champions.
This gesture by Parker has created quite a buzz among the fans. Some think that Candace was mocking Angel Reese and Co. after their humiliating defeat. Nonetheless, Candace Parker has shown in the past that she’s a fan of Angel Reese’s game. Earlier this year, Angel Reese made it to the 2023 Time Magazine’s 100 Next list. Apparently, the veteran Aces power forward penned down a blurb for Time Magazine praising Reese. It’s quite evident that there is no love lost between these two superstars of the game.

What Jaylyn Sherrod has to say about this victory
The LSU Tigers were completely blown away by the aggressive Colorado Buffaloes. After giving defending national champions a reality check, Jaylyn Sherrod spared a few words in a post game interview. She said, “This win doesn’t define our season. We got a lot of basketball to play. I’m just happy that this team came out. We were very poised, we stayed together, we talked to each other. We knew we could do it, we believed in ourselves.”
The collective effort and tremendous execution of their plans were the highlights of their win. Sherrod further added, “We don’t care about whose night it is. As long as we get the win, we got something to celebrate about.”
