After a thrilling conclusion to the women’s SEC tournament, all eyes are now focused on how the men’s division will go. An action-packed 5-day period will commence March 13 with two enticing contests. Apparently, the No. 12 Arkansas will lock horns with Vanderbilt which will be followed by a Georgia vs Missouri game. Subsequently, the next day will feature 4 more games that will determine which teams will qualify for the quarterfinals on Friday. While fans are busy extending their support to their favorite teams, experts have chosen who has what it takes to go all the way.

Analysts put their money on Kentucky to become SEC champions

The Field of 68 is back with its latest analysis before the competition kicks in. John Martin, Matt McCall and Tyler Hansbrough provided their insights on which team can pull off the championships. Before circling his attention around the Pac-12, John Martin asked the other two panelists about their SEC picks. Consequently, Matt McCall went first and said, “I’m going Kentucky. I’m going Kentucky to win the tournament. BBN travels Nashville. It will be all blue and white. I think this gives them some momentum going into the NCAA tournament. I’m going to take the Cats.”

I think they have the highest ceiling.” As it turns out, the Wildcats are currently ranked second in the SEC. Evidently, they have lost just one game in comparison to table-toppers Tennessee. Additionally, in their final conference game, they earned an impressive 85-81 victory over the Vols.

What’s in the way of the Wildcats?

The Wildcats will be in action for the first time in the tournament’s quarterfinals on Friday, March 15. Seemingly, they will face the winner of Game 5 which will be between No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 10 Ole Miss. If they come out victorious, they will advance to the semi-finals which will take place the next day. It would appear that, their game will be the second semi-final which will take place 25 minutes after the first one.

The decision to pick Kentucky over the rest doesn’t come as a huge surprise for many. Further, the Wildcats have shown their mettle in their conference campaign and have displayed their ability to take down evenly matched competitors. It will be exciting to watch what they bring to the table next.
