Cameron Brink’s achievements are endless. However, what truly sets her apart is her fierce work ethic and competitive nature. Being born on the last day of the year, Brink has unfolded a new victory on her birthday as well.
The senior center possesses several remarkable attributes. She is the daughter of two collegiate basketball players, has the ideal frame for grabbing rebounds and blocking shots, and even has a relationship with Golden State Warriors great Stephen Curry. Along with these noteworthy achievements, she won three Pac-12 titles, the 2021 NCAA title, and the WBCA Defensive Player of the Year award during her time in college. Brink made history by signing a contract with New Balance, becoming the first female basketball player to do so off the court.

Cameron Brink, the standout player for No. 9 Stanford, had an impressive performance against Morgan State, contributing 18 points, 5 rebounds, and an astounding 6 blocks. Her dominant presence on the court was instrumental in Stanford’s resounding 98-38 victory on Sunday night, which happened to be her birthday.
The team’s success was further bolstered by the strong performances of Elena Bosgana and Hannah Jump, who scored 14 points and 13 points, respectively, while also grabbing six rebounds each. Laila Fair’s efforts were commendable for Morgan State, as she led her team with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
With this win, Stanford extended their winning streak to eight games at home and improved their overall record to an impressive 11-1. Additionally, this victory marked a significant milestone for their legendary coach, Tara VanDerveer, as she secured her 1,198th coaching win. With this accomplishment, she is now only five wins away from surpassing former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s record for the most career victories in college basketball, regardless of gender.

Even with all of Brink’s victories, there have been setbacks. She credits the people in her life for helping her overcome hardship. “She’s a real special talent and a fearless competitor. Being competitive means you’re willing to do the work to win—all the little things,” says her head coach.
A member of the Associated Press Preseason All-America team, the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team, and the Lisa Leslie Award Preseason Watchlist, Brink is about to enter her senior year at Stanford.
