Iowa took the court looking to extend their unbeaten run this season. Hosting the unranked Kansas at home, the Hawkeyes couldn’t take advantage of their home conditions. They were unable to take control of the game as there was a back-and-forth battle in the first three-quarters of the game. Following this, they got ahead in the fourth quarter leading the Wildcats by 48-42. However, Kansas came back strongly in the closing moments by scoring the next 10 points thanks to Gabby Gregory and Ayoka Lee. They were able to hold on to their 7-point lead in the end as the official blew the final whistle. The final score was 65-58 in favour of the visitors.
The Kansas Wildcats had a memorable Thursday night as they came back from behind and stole a famous win. Their 23-year-old center Ayoka Lee was the standout scoring 22 points on Iowa’s home turf. Caitlin Clark’s poor show
The 2023 AP Player of the Year was on a hot streak averaging 32 points in her first 3 games. However, The No. 22 couldn’t get a single 3-pointer in the first quarter. Following this, she ended her dismal night with 2 for 16 from long distance. In addition to this, she could only assist 3 times and had 4 turnovers.
