Caitlin Clark has to be one of the most beloved in women’s college basketball. Having broken Aces’ star player Kelsey Plum’s record, contemporaries from the sport are cheerfully celebrating Clark’s historic feat against Michigan. With the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa erupting in a cheer for her to stay another year, a teary-eyed Clark shared a simple yet impactful message.

Caitlin Clark is continuously on the front page of basketball. She has broken Plum’s seven-year-old record of 3,527 points and is now the all-time scoring leader. In an interview after the Gamecocks’ win over the Wolverines, where she put up 49 points, Clark had a special motivational message for young girls watching her.

The video posted by the official X account of On Her Turf, the No. 22 of the Iowa roster said, “Never stop dreaming, because you can achieve way more than you ever thought.”

Earlier, Clark had stated that she doesn’t focus on records, but only enjoys her time on the court. Nevertheless, her teammates celebrated the feat by taking her up on their shoulders post-game. The Gamecocks’ head coach Lisa Bluder, re-affirming her belief in the young star, said, “It really is hard to stop Caitlin Clark.” She went on to add,  “I think she does enjoy it.”

The NCAA WBB comes together for Caitlin Clark

While many may think that Clark achieving such great heights would bring her many rivals, however, it is far from the truth. Cameron Brink took to her Instagram story and posted a photo of the two and captioned it, “Congrats, queen.” Additionally, Sabrina Ionescu shared Nike’s post for Caitlin on her Instagram story that said, “You break it, you own it.”

The celebration didn’t end as the young freshman of the Trojans, JuJu Watkins, also cheered for Caitlin on her Instagram story. She shared ESPN’s post with a clapping emoji for Caitlin Clark. Unquestionably, Caitlin has officially reached the top tonight in women’s basketball. Now, she is 99 points away from Pete Maravich’s overall NCAA record, who achieved the historic feat during his college career with the LSU Tigers between 1967-70.
