It is his special day. That might have been the thoughts of Caitlin Clark when she would have woken up on Saturday. Her boyfriend Connor McCaffery celebrated his birthday as he turned 26 years old. And as any loving partner would do, Clark came forward to wish McCaffery on his birthday. She penned a note for him on the social media platform Instagram and added 4 photos in a carousel post.

The post caught the eyes of her former Iowa teammate who didn’t hold back while applauding the couple. Jada Gyamfi took the opportunity to enunciate how much she loved the duo as she commented, “I love you guys sm.” McCaffery though understood the context of the comment pleased his fans with his wit by commenting “prove it.”

While Clark was in Iowa from 2020-24, Gyamfi has been a member of the Hawkeyes for the past two years. Therefore, she did add her bit in taking the Hawkeyes to two NCAA consecutive Championship Finals along with Clark. Both Clark and Gyamfi have formed an emotional bond with each other since then. It is however to be noted that even McCaffery also plied his trade for the Hawkeyes men’s basketball team from 2017-23. And that is most probably where he would have gotten to know Gyamfi. Meanwhile, Clark had also written a sweet caption for her boyfriend.

Clark penned an emotional message for the University of Iowa alumni while adding a pinch of her trademark humor. “Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life🖤 May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always 🥺🤍,” Clark had written.

The four pictures in the carousel showed McCaffery having a good time with Clark. The couple were together taking a mirror selfie in one while laughing together in another. One snap also showed Clark dressed in her Hawkeyes’ jersey while McCaffery hugged her on the court. McCaffery too shot back at Clark in a jocular manner stating, “And I’ll keep letting you win those shooting contests!!!!!” Meanwhile, as for Gyamfi, this isn’t the first time she has shown her bond with the couple.

When McCaffery wrote an appreciation post for Clark in April, Gyamfi shared her wishes and excitement for Clark. McCaffery had posted their picture – the same that was used by Clark in her boyfriend’s birthday post. Along with that McCaffery had added a video showing Clark’s eye-roll during a game which came across as cute to her fans. Gyamfi had also commented “Adorbs! So cute! Love it!” on the same post. This shows how close Gyamfi is to Clark and McCaffery.

In a recent interview with Iowa’s News Now, Gyamfi also revealed that she texts Clark quite often and even informs her of her day-to-day activities. “I text them basically any little thing that happens like I go to the grocery store, I’ll text them,” Gyamfi said about Clark and Kate Martin, who is also in the WNBA and previously used to play for the Hawkeyes.

Perhaps, it is this love and support from the Iowa community that has kept McCaffery and Clark going, along with Gyamfi, who seems close to the couple.
