The entire basketball world is gunning for Caitlin Clark to do the unthinkable. After conquering Kelsey Plum’s all-time scoring record in the women’s division, the 6 ft point guard has her eyes set on taking down Pete Maravich’s tally of 3,667 points. Meanwhile, after getting appreciation from her arch-nemesis Angel Reese on her previous feat, Clark now gets encouragement from another LSU Tiger, Flau’jae Johnson.

Flau’jae Johnson backs Caitlin Clark to break Pete Marvich’s record

The dynamic No.4 of the LSU Tigers was recently part of a virtual interview conducted by Yahoo Sports. At this time, she was asked what would it mean to her if Pete’s record falls at the hands of Clark. To which she replied, “I love it. I couldn’t say that around my coaches because they’re really big Pete Maravich fans. I love it though. Especially a woman doing it, you know trailblazing for the game. So, it’s super, pretty exciting that Caitlin is able to do what she does at a high clip.”

Last year’s NCAA Finalists, the Iowa Hawkeyes are looking pretty to go all the way this time around. Overall ranked at the sixth position in AP’s rankings, Lisa Bluder’s crew have put on an impressive show in Big 10 so far. They have come out victorious on 13 out of 16 conference matchups. Moreover, set aside the one loss against Kansas State, they have looked invincible at home. However, a lot will depend on how they deal with the table-toppers Ohio State on March 3rd. Caitlin Clark and Co. will have a tough task at hand in their attempt to avenge their previous loss to the Buckeyes.

Just a mere 50 points separate her from etching her name into the history books for the second time this season, one simply can’t wait to witness Caitlin Clark achieve greatness.
