Clark is chasing the former Washington Huskies’ star Kelsey Plum’s all-time NCAA points record. Plum played 139 games and smoked 3,527 points. She had an astounding 25.4 points per game. Clark is not too far behind.

She recently eclipsed former Ohio State guard Kelsey Mitchell and former Missouri State guard Jackie Stiles by besotting 35 points against the Northwestern Wildcats. That was an occasion to celebrate for the Hawkeyes star.

In the next two games, she dropped 38 and 27 points to inch closer to Plum. As of now, Clark has soused 3,489 points and is only 39 points away from breaking Plum’s record. And fans expect Clark to break the record in the game against the Cornhuskers.

The Hawkeyes’s second last game that they had played against the Maryland had an astounding 1.58 million viewers, becoming the most watched women’s basketball contest in Fox Sports history. And it has been a noteworthy thing that Clark has attracted a lot of spectators/viewers whenever she has played a game.

The tickets for the Cornhuskers’ game are being sold for $85 to $2,215 as per Yahoo Sports (h/t: The Athletic). The same tickets for the next Cornhusker home game can be found for as low as $10. Thus, it proves even the Cornhuskers’ fans are united together with Clark’s fans when she attempts to break the record.

Can Clark break the record in the next game?

Meanwhile, Clark has shattered more than 39 points thrice in this season. She thrashed an exceptional 44 against the Virginia Tech Hokies and 40 against the Michigan State Spartans. She recently smoked a staggering 45 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. If she scores 38, then she will level the record which is also a possibility taking cognizance that she had throttled 38 recently in her last match against the Nebraska and also against the Maryland.
