Two of the very best women’s college basketball players are set to lock horns again. After their much-talked-about face-off in the previous year’s NCAA championship game, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will relive their rivalry when Iowa and LSU meet in the Albany 2 Regional Finals. This classic Elite Eight matchup was on the cards ever since these two teams were announced in the same region on the Selection Sunday. Now, that this clash is really happening, everyone is excited to know how these two stalwarts feel about going up against each other one more time.

Recently, NCAA’s all-time scorer Caitlin Clark put forth her expressions before the game. She said, “The biggest thing is women’s basketball is in a really great place. It’s not just me and Angel [Reese]. She would say this exact same thing. There are so many stars in our game. So many young stars, and so much young talent. What we both have been able to do for our respective programs has been really special. The way we’ve elevated women’s basketball has been really cool. I’ve watched a lot of LSU games this year.”

What changed in a year for Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese?

The all-time leading Division I scorer Caitlin Clark is now a household name. Being an icon in the Midwest, the 6 ft guard has been instrumental in the stadiums being sold out this season. In addition to this, starring in the State Farm marketing campaigns as well as getting her own cereal are the other notable off-court activities. However, her most defining contribution is the heights she has taken the sport to in providing it a national recognition.

At the same time, Angel Reese is by no means behind her adversary. Under the mentorship of the great Shaquille O’Neal, the All-American forward became the NIL queen. Following this, she entered a partnership with him by signing a lucrative deal with Reebok just a few days after he was appointed the brand’s President. Reese also partnered with DICK’s Sporting Goods, where she is promoting her own line of Bayou Barbie merchandise.
