Winter is here and so is hoops season. With the college year in full swing, high school basketball has also begun. And there are no two bigger stars than Bryce James and Kiyan Anthony right now. Not just sons of legendary NBA players but talented in their own right, basketball fans will have plenty of time to gauge these two’s skills. And it seems like it’s not just fans but the players themselves that are fans of each other.
Where the media has often pitted them against each other, it’s going to be in their college years that the competition is going to heat up even more. While Anthony has committed to the Syracuse Orange, James is yet to decide. But as the former opened his senior year for the Long Island Lutheran Boys Varsity Elite yesterday, the latter had a simple response – the cheese emoji.
James also took to his Instagram story by resharing the post featuring highlights of Anthony making the basket again and again with the caption “Easy” and the dollars emoji. It essentially highlighted what his comment had meant, implying that he believes Kiyan Anthony to be talented enough to earn the greens easily. And yet, it’s Bryce James’ NIL value that’s currently soaring ahead to the top.

LeBron James’ youngest son is valued at $1.3 million to Carmelo Anthony’s son’s $1.1 million per On3. It might have something to do with social media following, where the younger James boasts 2 million followers on Instagram to Anthony’s following of 986k. Some of their biggest signings include James with Klutch Sports and Anthony with Nerf.
On3 ranks James as No. 100 overall and a 4-star prospect, whereas Anthony is the top-ranked in New York. Although they play on opposite coasts, with the 6’5″ shooting guard in Long Island and the 6’6″ guard in California, playing for Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, the two are often seen in comparison with each other, with analyst Stephen A. Smith frequently choosing favorites between the two.
While Kiyan Anthony’s Syracuse debut is much awaited next year, where might fans see Bryce James?

Bronny James, by pure luck of age, has already made NBA history with his dad LeBron by playing on the same team as the first father-son duo in the NBA. Carmelo Anthony is already retired so Kiyan Anthony won’t be able to replicate the feat but might the youngest James son might do it?
With the way LeBron is playing, he looks nowhere near retirement, but first, his son will have to make a huge decision – where to go to college? So far, three schools have offered him a role on their roster – Ohio State, USC, and Duquesne. Although some like Kevin Sweeney of Sports Illustrated say, “Bryce James being a top-100 recruit is significantly worse than anything Bronny-related over the last two years,” James still has time to improve his play this season
