Angel Reese is on a roll. She has been featured on the cover of the ‘Women’s Health Magazine.’ Her beautiful images can be found in the cover story. The thematic color for the images is white and the ‘Bayou Barbie’ is shining brightly in white clothes. In some images, she has draped a white dress, in others it is a white jeans with a top of the same color.

Reese’s beauty knows no bounds on her fourth magazine cover. Looks like she is living her dream. However, in the interview with Amanda Lucci for the same magazine, Reese reflected on her ‘dark’ times.

What did Reese say?

As Lucci interviewed Reese and went through her exceptional journey, the latter couldn’t help but get sentimental regarding her tough phase of life. Reese recalled her bumpy ride and stated as per ‘Women’s Health Magazine ‘“When you’re in a dark place, you really don’t know when and how you’re going to get out of it. But my teammates were there for me. When I got back on the court, it just felt like a breath of fresh air.”

The time Reese was referring to here according to the Women’s Health Magazine was when she had a series of injuries. During her freshman year with the Maryland Terrapins just into her fourth game, Reese suffered a Jones fracture and hence she had to be sidelined until her return in February. If that wasn’t enough during the offseason she again nursed a shin injury. A rod had to be inserted inside her left leg.

And that was the time when the 21-year-old had an extremely difficult time. But as the adage goes “Tough times don’t last, tough people do,” Reese bounced back smashing 17.8 points per game during her sophomore year with 10.6 rebounds per match. Therefore she hit a double-double in average.

And it was this resilience that made her one of the best players of the current generation in the women’s college basketball circuit. Then she transferred to the Louisiana State University under head coach Kim Mulkey for her junior year and the rest is history.

What other things did Reese reveal?

In the same interview, Reese recalled the time when she wasn’t this famous but had heard that Livvy wasn’t even able to go to class and stuff [because of her fame].” Reese with her persistent hard work stumbled across the same after the record-breaking viewership during the NCAA 2022-23 championship and hasn’t looked back ever since. “And then when it happened to me [after the championship game], I was like, ‘Well, dang,’” she exclaimed.

Reese is a champion since she emerged out of tough situations and has managed to make her mark in the college circuit. Now that she is kicking and doing well, she can forego the tough parts and focus on the upcoming games, in order to take her school to back-to-back championships.
