Paradise Island lately witnessed powerplay at its best as Memphis Freshman Ashton Hardaway scored his first five 3-pointers of his collegiate career. The sweeping performance pushed the Tigers to beat down the Michigan Wolverines with a 71-67 win.
Interestingly, Ashton is the son of former NBA All-Star Penny Hardaway, who is currently the head coach of the Memphis Tigers men’s basketball team. The 4-star recruit looks promising with his shot-making ability as he dribbles down in the early season tournament.

Brewing in his father’s guidance, Ashton has impressively developed his skills on the court since his college basketball debut. Ever since then, he’s been praised for his high IQ, shot-making abilities, and improved gameplay. He has been listed as the 18th-best prospect across the state of California and the 21st-best power forward all across the nation.
Ashton helped Memphis defeat Michigan by hitting his first five 3-point shots and became the highlight of the day. Evidently, in an Instagram post, the former NBA All-Star’s son made a mark as he kept shooting from the 3-point line.

Coming off of the bench and scoring 17 points, Ashton pushed Memphis toward its third win of the season. The game was held at the Imperial Arena where Hardaway showcased a dominant performance. Hardaway became the home team’s leading scorer today as his contribution played a crucial role in Tiger’s victory.
