Lady Tigers are roaring with a 24-4 tally in the regular season. While their stars Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow are receiving a lot of praise for their gameplay, guard Hailey Van Lith has been criticized for not raking up numbers like she was expected to do. This has created a lot of divisive opinions among LSU fandom.
In the backdrop of this brouhaha, two important Lady Tigers came forward to support Van Lith. And this just gave a glimpse of how united the team stands today.

Bayou Barbie posted a story on Instagram which had a clip of their recent game against Tennessee Volunteers. Van Lith could be seen performing and shooting exceptionally well in the snippets from the game. Reese posted it with the caption: “YOU AND MK CARRIED US TODAY! STAY CONFIDENT KILLA & LET THE HATERS KEEP TALKING!!!” The caption was followed by a fire emoji.

Earlier, coach Mulkey in a post-match press conference defended Van Lith stating, “Well, Hailey’s taken in a lot of criticism and it needs to stop. It needs to stop, she’s learning a new position, she’s on a top team in the country, the defending national champions. She’s having to play the point guard, and today, she moved to the off-guard. She had zero and you write that big zero turnovers in almost 37 minutes of play. That’s the most important stat in my eye.”
Van Lith was performing exceptionally well for Lady Tigers, with a season-high of 26 points with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. But this season, she has been performing averagely, before putting up a good show against Auburn Tigers.
As per Just Women’s Sports, Van Lith was previously a shooting guard before moving to LSU and took on the role of a point guard. Before that, the 22-year-old had plied her trade for the Louisville Cardinals. And this is her first season with the Lady Tigers.

But it looks like she’s Mulkey favorite since the head coach had tried recruiting her. However, Van Lith chose Cardinals over Baylor which was coached by Mulkey back then. Meanwhile, Reese’s post mentioned another player “MK.”

With MK, Reese must be referring to their guard Mikaylah Williams who besotted 15 points in the game with 5 rebounds and an equal number of assists. She was the second-highest scorer for LSU in this contest and helped them win by a margin of 75-60. This came as a collective effort for the team mainly counting on Angel Reese.
The LSU have only two games left in the regular season and it’s good to see that even their supporting players are performing exceptionally well. With Reese and Mulkey defending Van Lith who just gave a glimpse of her astounding display, the team would be ready to tackle difficult challenges going forward in the March Madness.
