The official page of the LSU Tigers recently took to Instagram to share a post on Reese’s homecoming. The post captioned, “The Bayou Barbie is a Baltimore Icon” features multiple pictures of Reese at her alma mater. Apparently, Reese started her stellar college basketball career in Baltimore. Evidently, she was a five-star recruit and had scholarship offers from more than 24 NCAA Division I basketball programs. Eventually, she decided to announce her commitment to Maryland in 2019 as their highest-ranked recruit. Seemingly, her closeness to head coach Brenda Frese was the reason behind it.

The All-American represented the Maryland Terrapins from 2020-2022 as a power forward. She gave glimpses of her leadership qualities as a freshman. She made a dream collegiate debut for Maryland scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Following this, she led the Terrapins to win the Big Ten regular season and the tournament titles. As a sophomore, Angel led Maryland to the Sweet 16 of the 2022 NCAA tournament. Further, the 6 ft 3 in became the first Maryland player after Angie Scott in 1975 to finish with a double-double average.
