Bill Self will be earning a whopping $53 million in his next 5 years. He has overtaken the Kentucky’s Wildcats boss John Calipari who had an income of $44 million. Bill Self’s base pay for this season will be $11 million along with the professional services and various royalties. This also includes a deferred income of $7.2 million which was slashed during Covid. Moreover, the compensation salary for the 2023-24 season amounts to $13 million.  In addition to this, Self will also receive a retention bonus of $5 million if he provides his services to the Jayhawks for the next five years.

There are a lot of incentives for Bill in this lucrative deal. He would receive $100,000 if Kansas won the Big 12 Conference this year and he is named Coach Of The Year. Also, another $50,000 will be given to him for participating in the NCAA tournament. Following this, if he leads Kansas to the Sweet 16 he will be rewarded another $100,000. Apart from this, $150,000 will be deposited in his account for reaching the Final Four of the tournament. Last but not least, if the Kansas Jayhawks become national champions, Bill will receive a massive emolument of $200,000.
