In a recent interview with the reporters, LSU coach Kim Mulkey answered queries regarding the gameplay and preparedness strategies of the team, as they will be playing against Auburn tomorrow. Giving some useful insights, Kim Mulkey says, “I would hope so! I mean, it’s not like we sit down and discuss it. I just have coach Bob present The Scouting Report show film of what we did in the last game. We played against A&M and then some stuff that we did and didn’t do against Auburn last time, then you take some film from their current game, um, if they’re tweaking anything or doing anything any different, then you get out on the floor and guard them.”

Talking about tomorrow’s schedule for the team, she adds, “Tomorrow’s a long day and so we’ll have time tomorrow to do some more stuff, but, um, they know who’s beating them.”

“I think you give credit to the opponent, I think there was a maybe a 35-minute period of time in that game that the crowd really didn’t get into it. I think it was like, oh, um, you know, do we cheer it’s a close game. And then about the last five minutes, I thought the crowd got into it and realized that Auburn had a chance to beat us. And they’ve really helped, um, make that atmosphere loud the last five minutes. So, um, I hope that our fans will do the same,” she added commenting on the support that was provided by the home audience to the Auburn Tigers as one of the factors of their win.

While they’re preparing for the upcoming face-off against Auburn, coach Mulkey revisited some challenging moments from the previous game.

Recounting the toughest part

Despite their fierce pouncing, the Tigers were beaten down by their nemesis and made circles around the news cycle. Their surprising moves shook LSU’s entire gameplay in moments. Recalling that day, Kim Mulkey said, “Well, we couldn’t even make a pass to the wing they were in. Passing lanes, we didn’t do a good job of getting open. Um, we, um, I think, we missed like 12 layups in that game and, uh, I just thought that, um, obviously our defense was not. Then what it is today and, um, we just were out of sync that was the game where I wanted Angel to tie the ball game and ran something for her, cuz honestly, if I remember, I was afraid she’d never touch the ball again.”

In the previous game, LSU’s top scorer Angel Reese hooped a double-double score of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Aneesah Morrow and Falu’jae Johnson scored 12 points each, with former grabbing 15 rebounds and 2 assists, while Johnson grabbed 3.

Toughing up to a few notches, LSU is going to bounce back in full force. However, only time will tell which team takes away the prize this time.
