The battle was head-to-head in the opening quarter, with LSU holding a slight lead. Following this, Alabama’s vibrant forward Aaliyah Nye went on a scoring spree and got the home team ahead in the closing minutes. Consequently, the Crimson Tide were a point ahead by the end of the first quarter.

After this, Angel Reese tried to get the lead back for the Lady Tigers with the help of Flau’jae Johnson and Mikayla Williams. But the home team didn’t let their guard down. They remained in front of the back of Nye’s double-digit score. Eventually, despite a combined fightback from Reese and Johnson to get LSU on a 9-0 run, the contest ended 35-34 at half-time in favor of the home team.

The visitors began the second half, firing at all cylinders. Aneesah Morrow, with some assistance from the No. 23 Aalyah Del Rosario, gets the Tigers off to a flying start. Moreover, Morrow became the first LSU Tiger to go past double-digits. Sophomore guard Flau’jae Johnson soon joined her as LSU quickly found themselves in the driving seat.
