In the game between LSU Tigers and Virginia Tech Hokies, Angel Reese put on a show for the fans after being sidelined for four straight games.

Left in awe by her performance, Coach Kim Mulkey in a post-game interview said, “Angel is one of the best players I’ve ever coached and I’ve coached many. And Angel is Angel, what I saw on that floor tonight was special by everyone that got to play and it was absolutely wonderful.”

The eyebrows were first raised when during a game against Kent State, Mulkey decided to bench Angel Reese. Since that game, Reese was sidelined in every game until their most recent match against Virginia Tech. Over the period, in several interviews, Coach Mulkey was questioned about her decision but she dismissed their question again and again.

Season of challenges for the LSU star

The LSU Tigers got hit in the face with a reality check in their season openers match, as they lost to #20 ranked Colorado. But Angel Reese was the only one who faced non-stop criticism and became the primary target of haters. However, being one of the best players in the league she went head-on in their next match and recorded a victory with a final score of 112-55 against Queens University Royals. But this didn’t stop the haters as they took a victory of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark to rub in her face.

But being an unapologetic self, she didn’t let this bother her.  Yet, another challenge awaited her, as she found herself benched in the Tigers game against Kent State. Following this she was also sidelined for four straight games, without any solid reason other than Coach Mulkey calling this a Coach’s decision.
