Angel Reese scored her 55th career double-double. The ferocious No.10 was unstoppable throughout the night as she bagged 20 points and 18 rebounds to go with her 7 assists. Aided by Aneesah Morrow’s impactful 21 points and 8 rebounds, she spearheaded LSU to a convincing 87-70 win over the visiting Texas A&M Aggies.
The LSU Tigers were back at PMAC Thursday night after a grinding win against the Ole Miss Rebels. The National Champions were looking to further extend their winning streak as they took on a formidable Texas.
Angel Reese does it again

After a slow start, LSU started to gain momentum, with Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow getting them ahead. The All-American forward Reese took no time to settle as she reached her double figures in the first 9 minutes. Moreover, she got the home team on a 9-0 run as LSU finished their opening quarter with a handsome 22-14 lead.
The Lady Tigers further extended their lead in the second quarter as other players joined Reese to help LSU remain in control. Point guard Hailey Van Lith along with Morrow and the dynamic No.4 Flau’jae Johnson ensured that the Tigers had the upper hand in the first half of the game. Meanwhile, Angel Reese got her 8th double-double of the season and jacked up 12 points with 12 rebounds at halftime.
Texas tried to make a comeback at the beginning of the second half. Their senior guard Endyia Rogers tried to close in on the opening half gap. Following this, Morrow and Van Lith combined to prevent any sort of resurgence from the opposition camps.
Moreover, No.12 Mikaylah Williams added further problems to Texas’ defense. Eventually, she became the fifth LSU player with a double-digit score. In the end, Texas wasn’t able to handle the tenacity of LSU’s starting five as they suffered an 87-70 defeat.
LSU’s top 5 shines again
LSU delivered an all-around team effort for the second conference game in a row. Consequently, Kim Mulkey’s top 5 again bagged double-figures for the night to help LSU cruise past a resilient Texas. Apparently, Mikaylah Williams along with Hailey Van Lith and Flau’jae Johnson complemented Reese’s and Morrow’s 20-point performance. While Williams became the third-best scorer with her 16 points and 7 rebounds, Van Lith and Johnson contributed with 14 and 11 points respectively.

The defending champions are tightening their grip on the SEC with each win. In addition to this, Kim Mulkey is pleased to see the phenomenal chemistry flourishing within the team. As the competition heads closer to its business end, fans will hope that the best is yet to come for the Lady Tigers.
