Home/College Basketball

There are only a handful of teams who can match LSU’s passionate fan base. The defending champions have been able to get their supporters to rally behind them, whether they are at home or away. Angel Reese and the Lady Tigers have been an attention magnet for the fans ever since their historic championship run last season. It seems their impression of sports enthusiasts is by no means fading away. One such example was witnessed during LSU’s visit to Georgia. Records tumbled not on the court, but off it.

Angel Reese and Co. had been raising the bar for popularity with their impeccable balling skills. It appears that they have achieved something spectacular once again. The Lady Tigers took a successful SEC trip to face the Bulldogs on a thrilling Thursday night. However, their resounding victory was not the only talking point.

Their fans made this fixture a memorable occasion. The official attendance recorded to witness Kim Mulkey’s crew turned out to be a whopping 7,406 at the Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. This is the largest gathered crowd in a Georgia Women’s Basketball home game since 2012.

Such type of reception to the Lady Tigers is not surprising to see. With one of the most popular college basketball stars in recent times at the helm, LSU is a major attraction. Nevertheless, LSU was able to get another impressive victory under their belt away from home.

LSU maul the Bulldogs

Kim Mulkey’s team was again at the top of their game in this conference play. A complete control from start to finish saw them secure a dominating 80-54 win. A combined double-double by their offensive duo of Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow decimated the home team’s defense.

Hardly anyone would argue about the kind of majestic impact LSU has on women’s basketball. The overwhelming love and support they receive even on their road games is truly special. In fact, they can be termed as one of the principal reasons why people indulge in women’s college basketball.
