Angel Reese’s “you can’t see me” stunt has returned to haunt her. Bayou Barbie’s team suffered a defeat to the No.20 Colorado Buffaloes in the season opener. This loss saw the #1 LSU Tigers come under fire and opened the floodgate of hatred and hostility. Reese followed up her opening game display of 15 points with a 28-point outing (28-14-1) to trounce Queens Royals 112-55 on Thursday. Despite the LSU defeating the Queen’s NC in their game 2, Angel Reese’s roaring comeback could not placate a vast majority of the fans.

While Reese had an improved outing, Clark’s performance of 44 points 8 rebounds, and 6 assists saw her score more than half of the Iowa Hawkeyes’ 80 points. Hence, the forward’s display simply paled in comparison to that of her arch-rival. This saw the fan fury get nasty.

The fans took this opportunity to criticize Angel Reese, reviving the last season’s beef between the two college basketball stars. They took to X to rub this in Reese’s face following the criticism she faced after losing her first match of the season. “Way better than that classless thug Angel Reese,” one user said while comparing Clark with the LSU star.

Caitlin Clark is said to be one of the best college basketball players, but Angel Reese took the win and delivered the John Cena taunt that remains fresh in fans’ minds. After that, fans may have expected a bigger show, but things have not gone as per plan. Two games into the season, Clark’s 2023-24 season has eclipsed Reese’s campaign.

Clark’s displays see Angel Reese hauled over the coals

The flak has to do with the hype around the two basketball stars playing their last college season before heading to the WNBA. It could continue all throughout the season, right until the WNBA draft.

Some fans, while equating Clark’s performance with Reese’s Tigers, lashed out at the LSU star. Some even said that Angel was never better than Clark.

Another fan shared this sentiment in response to the post highlighting Clark’s numbers against Virginia Tech

There are over three months, but as of now, this fan’s take cannot be disputed. Clark has scored 72 points, 15 rebounds, and 16 assists; Reese has scored 43 points, 26 rebounds, and 2 assists.

While her mantra to deal with haters may help her to some point, Angel’s diehards reckon that she needs to get out of this fire as soon as possible. The only way to do it is to let actions speak louder than words.
