The Bayou Barbie has been the driving force behind LSU’s championship run last season and is looking to repeat the same this time around. Regardless of whether she achieves it or not, her supporters are desperate to see her extend her time for another year.
The All-American forward recently addressed the media and interacted with them on the subject. Further, Kim Mulkey’s latest recruit Hailey Van Lith also opened up about her views.
Angel Reese and Van Lith’s response to the crowd’s demands

Two of LSU’s standout performers Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith answered some burning press questions. Both of them were asked what it was like to hear the chants of ‘one more year’ from the crowd when they were playing. Angel went first and responded, “That’s a lot of pressure. Of course, I mean the fan base here is amazing. Of course, I probably would never see anything like this again. You think about that when you’re trying to make a decision. I do love LSU and I love everything here. The support here they’ve made me who I am. The Bayou Barbie because of LSU. So, it’s a lot of pressure of course. But. I’m just trying to focus on the now and just during the moment.”
After this, Van Lith also expressed her views on the decision. She said, “Obviously, it makes you feel good. The fans you know want you back so bad and this community really cherishes us and just the support for women’s basketball in Baton Rouge by itself. It’s just really a special thing. You can’t say much. I just love that the fans want us here so bad.”

Angel’s and Hailey’s contributions to LSU
For the dynamic No.10 Reese, this is her second season. In her first one, she was a part of 36 games for the Lady Tigers and maintained a double-double average of 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per contest. Following this, she matched her first numbers in her current campaign. Evidently, she scores 19.1 points and grabs 13 rebounds whenever she steps on the court for LSU. Meanwhile, her teammate Hailey is also having quite an impactful debut season for the defending champions. In all of LSU’s 26 games, the No.11 finishes her fixtures with 12.3 points and a field goal percentage of 40.1.
