The 2022-23 NCAA champions LSU Tigers took the court for the second time in three days as they faced the McNeese State Cowgirls on Tuesday. With an emphatic record of (9-1) so far, the Lady Tigers are only behind South Carolina in the Southeastern Conference.

Angel Reese and Co. were looking to extend their winning streak when they entered the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. And they didn’t disappoint. The reigning national champions displayed absolute carnage as they decimated McNeese State 133-44 thereby shattering a school record.

The LSU Tigers unleash their beast mode

The prolific scorer for LSU this season, Aneesah Morrow, opened the scoring for them with a magnificent floater. Following this, the defending champions controlled the opening quarter leading McNeese 32-12. Flau’jae Johnson and Mikayla Williams, along with Morrow, shared 23 points between them.

LSU continued their dominance in the second quarter, with Williams and Morrow reaching double-digit figures. All-American forward, Angel Reese soon joined them with her 13 points in the quarter. As a result, by the end of the first half, LSU led the first half with a massive margin of 40 points. Moreover, Aalyah Del Rosario continued her good form from the last game and became the fourth player to have a double-digit score. In addition, the Lady Tigers scored all 30 points in the second quarter.

Things were no different for the Tigers in the third quarter. The 6 ft guard Mikayla Williams became the second-highest scorer for LSU with her 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists. She added 3 more points in the last quarter and ended her outing with 26 points.

Furthermore, forward Angel Reese ended the quarter with a double-double. It was all too easy for them. 5 of their 9 players had a double-digit score next to their name. Aneesah Morrow got her fourth consecutive double-double for LSU as she finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bayou Barbie is back with a bang as she reminds everyone why she’s a top-class hooper. The explosive No.10 made an emphatic statement with her tremendous exhibition and was among the leading scorers for the game. The All-American forward finished her night scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds along with 3 assists.

The LSU Tigers are getting better with each passing game. They have made it loud and clear that they will not settle for anything other than being NCAA champions back-to-back. We will have to wait and see if they are successful.
