King James proclaimed a long ago that he will be cheering for his son than playing for Lakers on the day of his debut. And it seems the day isn’t far away. As the Akron Hammer is creating waves in the ongoing NBA season, Bronny James is making a comeback at USC five months after facing cardiac arrest. Approved by medical professionals to resume basketball full-time, Bron’s big boy is anticipated to take the college circuit by storm.

The 19-year-old will have his last examination with USC officials this week. But some analysts feel it is too early for him to return to the NCAA. Some even blame LeBron James of putting his son under pressure.

“Whenever he’s cleared and ready to have his first game, I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day we’re playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game.” This was the statement the Lakers legend made about the debut of his son, Bronny James, after his horrifying cardiac arrest.

When James hinted that he would miss a Lakers game to see his kid play, Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell smirked. Davis even informed reporters that the 38-year-old had the full backing of the locker room and that the two team captains had discussed the strategy on a previous team flight.

However, some sports analysts participating in The Field of 68 podcast called it a hasty comeback. With concern for his health and the pressure of being himself after an illness, the analysts argue, Bronny also has the responsibility to carry forward the legacy of his father.

Bronny has yet to play for the Trojans in any of the games. Although his return is greatly anticipated, the problems that await him are quite troubling.

Given his fitness, sports analysts believe Bronny may average 7 points and 18 minutes per game, which would be a significant blow to his NBA charts and NIL deals.
