The Louisiana State University Lady Tigers are going strong with a 24-4 tally and occupy second place in the SEC. Their exceptional season wouldn’t have been possible without stars Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith. Both have an extra year available to them due to COVID-19 eligibility despite being in their senior year. And their head coach Kim Mulkey opened up on whether the stars would use it in the next season.
Mulkey had a conference with the media regarding LSU’s next game against the Georgia Bulldogs, and she was asked about the question that has been keeping their fans awake. A self-assured Mulkey’s answer is proof of how much the revered coach likes to keep to herself.

“I don’t know if I’ll have a conversation with them. Angel said when she came here she would stay two years and Hailey said she’d stay one. I’m not the type of coach to sit people down and tell them which agents to pick or talk them out of what they want to do,” Mulkey stated.
“They know they have the COVID year to come back and they would be more than welcome, but I try to stay away from having any kind of influential conversation, particularly with Hailey and Angel because they made it perfectly clear when they came what they wanted to do,” she further added.
Notably, Reese had transferred to the LSU Lady Tigers from the Maryland Terrapins after the 2021-22 season. She then became a mainstay for LSU since then and helped the team get the national championship title in the 2022-23 season. Reese also had a turn in her off-court exploits and since then has become a sensation for the Lady Tigers. Her off-court life has become as intriguing for the fans as her on-court life.

Recently, Reese was speculated to be going through a breakup with her boyfriend Cam’Ron Fletcher. Both have unfollowed each other on Instagram. This had stunned their fans since Reese had recently posted the gifts that she had received from Fletcher on her official Instagram handle. Though the Bayou Barbie hasn’t come out and been vocal about this issue, Fletcher posted a caption, hinting at such a prospect, on his Instagram stories.

On the other hand, Van Lith has transformed under Mulkey’s guidance this season. Previously, she used to play for the Louisville Cardinals, and going by how Mulkey helped her change her position and develop as an athlete, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that she will also be a key player this season if the Lady Tigers are to win back to back championship titles. Meanwhile, the LSU would be concentrating on their next game.
The LSU Lady Tigers would be playing their next game against the Georgia Bulldogs and would be keen to get an easy win. Angel Reese is the leading scorer in points average and rebounds average for LSU with 19.1 points per game and 12.9 rebounds per match. On the other hand, Van Lith has a decent 11.9 points per contest. This will be the second last game for the Lady Tigers in the regular season this year.
