We have a game on our hands at the University of Phoenix Stadium Saturday night. Defending champions UConn are fighting off their season as Alabama is taking them to the limits in this enticing Final Four matchup. Once again it’s Alabama’s No.2 Grant Nelson who stole the show on this important night for the Crimson Tide. The 22-year-old showed once again that he meant business on the most significant night in the program’s history.
Just 5 minutes into the second half with the scores 55-50 in favor of UConn, Mark Sears decided to go with a long throw toward Nelson. Following this, the senior forward caught the ball with ease but had the 7 ft 2 in center Donovan Clingan in front of him. Nonetheless, he was able to dunk it emphatically despite taking a fall soon after.
This brilliant display of skills had the crowd, experts, and commentators, all in awe. In addition to this, Mark Sears also couldn’t believe what he just witnessed as he was seen having his hands on his head with a flabbergasted look on his face.

From there on he continued to trouble UConn’s defense. Two back-to-back jumpers in a span of one minute leveled the scores with still 12:44 left till the final buzzer. However, Stephon Castle’s carnage in the next 97 seconds which had an 8-0 run upset the momentum. From there on , he couldn’t bring the Crimson Tides back into the game.
