Oats’ programs have become a force in college basketball, perennially battling for SEC championships and extended NCAA tournament stays. His influence has been so significant that Alabama has prioritized getting him inked long-term.

In March 2024, Alabama signed Oats to a rich contract extension that will have him at the helm through 2030.
