After Iowa’s recent match versus Michigan, Stephen A. Smith is back with his catchphrases, endorsing Caitlin Clark. The ace analyst has demonstrated his devotion to Clark by stating that he would stand with her in any circumstance. This time, she stunned him with a 40-point shot against Michigan, prompting him to alert the WNBA to Caitlin’s potential.

In the penultimate regular-season game against Indiana, Clark scored a game-winning buzzer-beater. With her arms up in celebration, she sprinted to the other end of the court this time, and the sellout audience joined in. The Hawkeyes (14-1, 3-0 Big Ten) gained an 11-game winning streak thanks to 15-point scorers Clark and Stuelke.

In the second and third quarters, Clark, the top scorer in the country, was just 14 of 34 from the field and lasted for over 14 minutes without scoring. Though it was a long distance from the hoop, the Hawkeyes could still get her the ball in the closing seconds when Clark converted a feed from Hannah Stuelke to hit from thirty feet as the buzzer went off.

This feat floored Stephen A Smith, as he was overwhelmed with admiration for Clark: “This girl is a superstar; she is Stephanie Curry of women’s basketball, college or pro. She is a superstar. I had the pleasure of doing an event with her.”

He then stated her accolades, “This woman is the nation’s leading scorer, averaging 31 and a half points per game and shooting at least five three-pointers per game, so yes, she is elite. Wait until this girl gets into the WNBA. She is something special.”
