Another brawl broke out on the hardwood when the Colorado Buffaloes competed against the SMU Mustangs in Dallas on Saturday night. Eight members of the Buffs’ squad from the previous season returned to help their team secure a 84-69 win. But the dominant highlight of this victory remained the vitriolic scenes.
The Buffaloes won their first game after jumping 15 positions to the top five in the most recent AP poll, their highest position since 2005. They achieved this after starting the season 3-0, including a 14-point win over the previous year’s national champion, LSU. But with 3.5 minutes left in the third quarter of their recent match, three technical fouls and a personal foul were issued. This added a twist to the game.

Free-for-all match moment
Buffs forward Charlotte Whittaker was going for an offensive rebound when she got tangled up with SMU’s Tamia Jones, whose teammate Amirah Abdur-Rahim then stepped into the situation. Whittaker got called for a personal foul. She also got a technical foul, as did both SMU players.
Whittaker was indeed a lucky fellow, as the whole team had her back in supporting the foul. However, both the belligerent players ended up getting technical.
