Dennis Rodman is a name that needs no introduction in the world of basketball. Rodman’s rebounding skills on the court, add to it the eccentric and thoroughly interesting life he led off the court, made his name stand out from the rest. However, apart from basketball, ‘The Worm’ also had a short stint in pro wrestling. WCW legend, Eric Bishoff recently opened up about Rodman’s performances at WCW.

Eric Bischoff was a WCW legend who pioneered behind-the-scenes action in the sports entertainment industry. Bischoff was also a pro-wrestler in front of the camera. He was an ardent believer of the simple idea – controversy creates cash. Choosing it to be the guiding path to popularize the WCW. Among all his tricks, celebrity appearances played a major role. Which eventually led to Rodman’s introduction to the WCW for the first time in 1998.

Dennis Rodman entered the WCW in 1998 after joining hands with the legendary trio, ‘nWo’. With his arrival, he surprised both the NBA and the wrestling universe. Rodman’s appearances added another level of excitement among wrestling fans. The Chicago Bulls legend along with his friend and pro-wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan gave the fans many moments to cherish. Although his tenure didn’t last long, he surely changed the way people looked at celebrity appearances in WCW.
Even Bischoff didn’t hold back from complimenting the five-time NBA champion. In a recent interview with Strictly Business, the WCW legend discussed how celebrity appearances helped WCW gain more popularity. Amidst that discussion, he said, ?Dennis [Rodman] looked great compared to what celebrities would typically would look like when they performed. Dennis was kind of a freak in that regard.”?

Bischoff’s statements probably indicate how much he liked The Worm’s persona, style, and performances in the ring. Using? ‘freak’ as the most appropriate description for Rodman. In addition, Bischoff’s words remind both the WCW and the NBA universe of the unicorn-like existence of Dennis Rodman.
