“I Got Secret Service”: One Month After First Lady “Hurt” Angel Reese, POTUS Joe Biden Places His Money on 21YO NCAA Champ in White House Battle

In a departure from the usual practice of inviting only the winning team to the White House, the First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, extended invitations to both NCAA Finals teams, Louisiana and Iowa, to visit the White House. Angel Reese, whose stock has been high, initially felt “hurt” by the invitation extended to their rivals, perceiving it as a result of their predominantly white composition.

The 21-year-old, however, made a visit to the White House, as is customary for an NCAA champion. On her short visit, Reese seems to have impressed President Joe Biden.

Notably, Angel Reese’s cousin, Jordan Hawkins, who plays for UCONN, also secured the NCAA men’s championship title. A friendly bet was made by the president regarding a one-on-one match to determine the better player. President Biden demonstrated significant confidence in the young basketball athlete, indicating his high regard for Reese’s skills.

President Biden remarked, “We’ve got a bet going on. There’s a basketball court down below.” He continued, “I got Angel too. Besides, I have secret service to make sure Angel’s gonna win.”

The POTUS’s words of praise for the talented young basketball star were certainly emphatic. In addition to her White House visit, the LSU star is mirroring her on-court success in her off-court life as well.

It has only been days since the 2023 NCAA champion stunned her fans with an expensive purchase: an exquisite watch. College basketball stars have immensely been benefitting from NIL or Name, Image, and Likeness deals. Angel Reese owes quite a lot to NIL deals for her growing fortune. Reese has reportedly inked such deals with around 25 companies, signing her latest with haircare products manufacturer Mielle Organics. Turns out, business is likely to boom for the 21-year-old in the days to come
