At a time when the world is remembering Kobe Bryant, a video surfaced on social media which showed LeBron James imitating Bryant. The late NBA legend himself was among those enjoying LeBron’s performance and having a hearty laugh over it.

It looked to be from a time when the duo was together with the US national team. It was the only team where LeBron James and Kobe Bryant had played together.

LeBron James talked about Kobe Bryant days before he passed away

When LeBron James came into the NBA in 2003, Kobe Bryant was an established player, playing his seventh season in the league.

Kobe retired in 2016 leaving behind a legacy. James is one of those players who will leave behind similar legacy when he retires. Days before Kobe’s tragic death, James had crossed him in the list of all-time top scorers. After reaching another milestone, James was speaking about how much he admired Kobe Bryant.

“As I got drafted, I still just admired him, seeing what he was able to accomplish, winning championships, being early in his career where he learned from the misses he had against the series against Utah, and he used that as motivation and got better and better and better,” he said. “I continued to admire him throughout my high school rank. Then, as competitors, just seeing the work ethic that he put into the game. He had zero flaws offensively. Zero.”

James said how privileged he felt to have played alongside Bryant when he got the opportunity with the US national team.

“We take it down to 2008 when we become the Redeem Team, and it was a dream come true for me to be able to line up alongside him,” James said. “I just admired him for so many years, and seeing him from afar, and then being able to be in practices with him, and me watching and learning. It’s just too much.”
