The soccer vs football debate was at center stage again when Prince William and Princess Kate watched an NBA game during their visit to the United States. Fans greeted them with chants during the Boston Celtics game.

The game between USMNT and England reignited the Soccer vs Football debate. David Beckham, before the game, shared an Instagram post tagging USMNT saying, “It’s called football.” Fans from both countries were quick to share their thoughts over social media.

During their visit to Boston, Prince William and Princess Kate enjoyed an NBA game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. The Hall of Famer Satch Sanders was alongside the celeb couple during the game. The couple posed with the fans for photographs before and after the game.

Prince William and Princess Kate, during the game, appeared on the screen, making fans chant, “USA! USA”!?Some sections of fans were chanting, “It’s called Soccer.” That would have been an awkward moment for the couple, but they waved toward the fans with a smile.?

The royal couple was at the game alongside Massachusetts Governor-elect Maura Healey, Boston Celtics owners Steve and Judy Pagliuca, and Wyc Grousbeck and his wife, Emilia Fazzalari. Boston Celtics beat Miami Heat in the game by 134-121, with Jayson Tatum scoring season-high 49 points.

Prince William selected Boston as the venue for the award in respect of former US President John F. Kennedy. The couple will meet Caroline Kennedy, daughter of John F. Kennedy, during the visit.
