The University Of Virginia got struck with tragedy as the team lost three of its players to a shooting. Players, teammates, and families have all come together in mourning for the three young players. This has become national news since it was released to the press. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James also paid his respects.
The players from the UVA football team were shot dead by one of their former teammates in a school shooting. Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry were the names of the three victims.

A serious and daunting tragedy
Davis and Chandler were merely 20 years old and Perry was 22. It is a tragic sight to see such young people who have so much potential lose their lives. Millions have flooded social media with prayers and condolences.
Even NBA star LeBron James went onto Twitter to offer his condolences to the bereaved’s family and friends.
James tweeted, “Prayers to @UVAFootball program and the families who lost their Young King’s!! Sad Sad Sad.”

The official Twitter account for UVA Football also released a statement that said, “There are no words to describe this tremendous loss to our UVA Football family. Lavel, Devin, D’Sean – you will all be dearly missed and we will never forget the impact you had on our team and community.”

Many other celebrities also shared their prayers and condolences on Twitter. Fox Sports Analyst and legendary NFL quarterback Michael Vick tweeted, “Prayers for the @UVAFootball program and their families.”

A scary thought for every parent in the nation
The death of these three college football players has really struck the entire nation and has once again raised the issue of the security of children in educational institutions. This is something that concerns almost every parent in the country.

Virginia Athletics Director Carla Williams also issued a statement saying, “As a mother of three children, I ache for the parents and family members. We lost three talented and young bright men. We will never see what their impact on the world would have been, but we will never forget their impact on us.”
