Sunday night saw Anthony Davis doing what he does best. He scored 37 points with 18 rebounds leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a victory over the Brooklyn Nets. After the game, Davis revealed his source of motivation. Turns out, AD looked to NFL’s finest for motivation. And it definitely paid off!

NFL legend Aaron Rodgers had inspired Davis to “be dominant”. He had been watching the Green Bay Packers game and studied Rodgers. After throwing a slant to Allen Lazard, Rodgers ran for 40 yards. The flexing and screaming Aaron Rodgers motivated Davis before his game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Fans went into a meltdown and reacted on social media regarding the same. One user said that AD “needs motivation from the NFL to do his job“. Others mocked his dedication to the game and joked about his lack of motivation otherwise.

Imagine that salary not being enough of a motivator.

There is no doubt that Aaron Rodgers is a role model for any athlete to take inspiration from. In his game against the Dallas Cowboys, he finished with 224 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. But his incredible performances are not an isolated event. He has been consistent and is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.
Can Anthony Davis continue his streak?
If Anthony Davis taps more into this source for inspiration, the Lakers may still have a good chance of climbing to the top. In his post-game media interaction, he confessed that “it is always a good day when the Packers win.”

Head coach Darvin Ham praised Anthony Davis for his commitment to the team. Davis’ efforts in taking the team forward despite his health problems meant a lot to Ham. The coach also said that AD set an example for his teammates as well. Ham added, “He is in a really good rhythm and a really good mental space as well.”
